Elder Seraphim Poster
Death to the World
Elder Seraphim (Tyapochkin) was born in 1894 and became a great beloved elder who suffered during the harshest period of soviet concentration camps. After his wife's death was arrested and suffered over ten years in Stalin's camps engineered to eradicate Christians who were enemies of the atheistic state. While in prison he lead spiritual talks, performed services, and gave consolation to fellow inmates, all which were prohibited by the state. He was known for his intense prayer, hesychastic spirit, and love for piety. When his ten years was up, they interrogated him before his release to see if the Soviet camps had broken his resolve, but when he boldly proclaimed that he would continue serving Christ's flock they sentenced him to another five. After serving as a priest for many years and with steadfastness through other prison sentences, the Elder gave up is soul to God in 1982.
The poster is 18 x 24, folded to 6x9. It fits perfect in a frame or just tacked up on a wall. May we have the prayers of the righteous Elder Seraphim!
